Pumpkin spent the entire ride home trying to escape the confines of her little cage by biting the metal and pulling it. Luckily for me, we made it home without incident.
Friday night she was on her best behavior even though she was banished to the spare bedroom because she was keeping Jayden awake.
Saturday Jayden and Tony took Pumpkin out for a little affection time and fed her a few extra carrots. Jayden was loving every second of his "play date" with Pumpkin.
Sunday morning I was heading downstairs for a drink of water when
I decided I should check in on the little fuzzy thing. Just as I get close enough to focus on the cage (I didn't have contacts or glasses on) I realize she's succeeded in her attempt at escape, the front cage door was wide open! I yell for Tony to come help me find her before the cat does. I actually don't know why I worried about our cat, we put a gate up at the door that she surely can't jump without a trip to the vet for a cortisone shot and this is the same cat that if her toy gets batted outside the reach of her paws, she would rather curl up and take a nap than move the two inches to reclaim the toy. After only a few seconds of searching we find Pumpkin in the closet trying to chew her way through our carpet. Only later would I discover that she had actually chewed her way through a few things in the closet.
Today Jayden and I returned Pumpkin to the class and told the teachers about our very fun filled weekend. Without missing a beat, Jayden volunteered to take her home again whenever Miss Shauna needed someone to do so. At least we didn't kill her.
